The goal is to create a wayfinding system for Les Francos, a summer music festival celebrating Francophone culture from around the world. The festival takes place over a week, spanning the entirety of Place des Arts. Challenges include adapting LG2’s current branding to create a standardized wayfinding system, as well as placing signs in a logical manner so that festival attendees can easily locate the stages and amenities. Additionally, the signage should reflect the summer vibe of the festival.

The final concept is based on the intersection of light and play, to reflect the summer timing of the music festival. I used branding assets provided by LG2, to explore abstractions of Les Francos' letterforms. PP Mori Extra bold in white is used, as it is easily legible and provides a playful look due to the rounded letters. Translucent Acrylic is used in conjunction with wood panels, to create dynamic signage, in addition to providing durability for outdoor usage. The colours used are from the brand’s existing guidelines – I decided not to modify the colours, as the vibrant colour palette works well with the summer concept. Signage placement was determined by frequented walking areas, as well as their relative distance to the stages.
